Najib checks out Budget 2015 preparations
Putrajaya: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak took time off to look into the latest preparations on Budget 2015 at the Finance Ministry here Thursday night.
The Prime Minister accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, was met on arrival at the ministry building by officials and personnel involved in preparing the budget.
Najib, who is also Finance Minister, was later brought to view the various budget operation rooms.
Also present during the visit were Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa and Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah.
Najib is scheduled to table Budget 2015 in the Dewan Rakyat on Friday. It will be his seventh budget as Finance Minister.
Budget 2015 is important as it is the last budget of the 10th Malaysian Plan (RMK10). It will provide allocations for the remaining programmes and projects under the development plan.
Earlier, in his Facebook entry, Najib said the process of preparing Budget 2015 was long and ardous involving many groups of stakeholders, including Malaysians who contributed ideas and views via www.1Malaysia.com.my and Twitter.
